Happy Friday everyone! Today, I am super excited about starting a new Friday feature called “Styled Travels.” For my first Styled Travels post, I am featuring one of my favorite traveling accessories, the retro-inspired floppy hat. What I love most about big floppy hats is the glamorous feeling that comes along with dawning one of these stylish gems. Moreover, there’s nothing worse than getting sunburned, especially on your face. So why sport a plain old ball cap when you can rock one of these adorable hats?! Next to sunscreen, big floppy hats are a must when you’re out in the sunshine. Here are some of my favorites.
What other styles do you guys like??

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you all have had a fantastic week thus far. Today’s Destination Spotlight is one for the books, to say the least. The minute I saw this property, it not only went straight to the top of my “List of Places I MUST Travel To” but also went to the top of places I just had to share with all of you! Cocoa Island in the Maldives is basically a private island paradise. Each of the rooms are connected by a wooden walkway that looks into a crystal clear shallow lagoon. Essentially every window in each suite has a horizon view. Oh and did I mention that the overwater suites are made from boats used by local fisherman? So cool! The hotel offers personalized Activity Planners for each guest, as well as exquisite fine dinning and a spa retreat. If that isn’t enough to leaving you swooning, check out these images.

Currently wishing I was here….
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Today, I am excited to share with you Jay & Abby’s honeymoon escape to Australia. Jay & Abby were married last winter but wanted to honeymoon somewhere with nice, warm weather, so they figured that Australia would be the ideal location because while it was winter in the states, Australia was in the middle of their summer months. Although the couple didn’t realize that their summer is actually the wettest time of the year, they had beautiful weather nonetheless.

The newlyweds, Jay & Abby. |
Jay & Abby enjoyed the hustle & bustle of the city life in Syndey for the first days of their trip, then traveled to Hamilton Island where they relaxed in a beautiful lagoon and walked along the serene white beaches, and wrapped up their trip exploring the Great Barrier Reef and experiencing the luxury of Cairns. At two of the three hotels, the lucky newlyweds were met with room upgrades and champagne in celebration of their marriage. They also were upgraded to an exit row for their flights between Sydney & LAX! A much appreciated upgrade, seeing as they were traveling at least 13 hours each way.

Relaxing, fun, & memorable, Jay & Abby’s Australian getaway made for their ideal honeymoon and I am so happy I was able to help them out! And come on, aren’t these beaches just to die for?! Wishing I was relaxing here right now.

Happy Friday everyone! Today, I want to spill some secrets to taking full advantage of all-inclusive resorts. Now when I say “all-inclusive,” I’m not talking the ginormous resorts that offers all-inclusive packages for college spring breakers. I am referring to the more high-end all inclusive properties, consisting of only a small number of rooms (usually under 100), excellent food and drinks, and with outstanding service. Some of my personal favorites include Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita in Riviera Maya and Hermitage Bay located in Antigua.
Here are a few tips to keep in mind if you are staying at an all-inclusive paradise:
- Dress Code
- Always check the hotel’s dress codes for their restaurants before you leave home.
- For example, I know most guys when traveling to a beach resort typically pack a total of two pairs of shoes: flip-flops and tennis shoes. However, some of the restaurants in your hotel may require closed toe dress shoes for guys.
- Plan Ahead
- When you arrive, check to see if any restaurants require reservations. Also sometimes restaurants are only open on certain nights, so ask to see a schedule.
|
Be sure to order the Coco Loco at Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita! |
- Ask for what you want
- Don’t assume that because it is an all-inclusive, you only get cheap alcohol. With most all-inclusive resorts, you can ask for specific brands of alcohol and it will be included.
- Take advantage of room service
- Most people write off room service when traveling because it is known to be so pricey, but it is included at most all-inclusive resorts. So take advantage of breakfast in bed, dessert in your suite or an afternoon order of margaritas and guacamole!
- Gratuities
- Almost every all-inclusive resort will include gratuities. But if someone goes out of their way to provide excellent service it is nice to tip them.
- Be sure to travel with small bills for those times you want to slip a helpful staff member a tip. Nothing is worse than scrambling through your wallet in search of a little tip and finding only plastic or big bills.
I hope these tips were helpful! Do you have any advice I left out? Where is your favorite all-inclusive resort? If you enjoyed this post, be sure to check back soon for our post on the pros and cons of all-inclusive resorts!
