I just shared a hotel Spotlight on Four Seasons Lanai at Manele Bay, and now I want to share my personal experience! I definitely recommend this resort to any couple who is looking for a laid back, tropical vibe on their honeymoon. The island of Lanai is fairly big, but only has the Four Seasons on the beach, a Four Seasons Lodge on the hillside (which has a more mountain lodge feeling), and a very small town. The rest of the island is empty! It’s so beautiful! The arrival experience was great. You fly into Hololulu, where someone meets you at the gate, drives you to the other airport and it has a nice lounge with drinks and snacks. You check in to the hotel in the lounge so you can go right to your room when you arrive in Lanai.
There is a frequent shuttle between the Four Seasons resorts so you can easily visit both, and each resort has such a unique vibe! We stayed on the beach and had dinner at the lodge one night which was really nice! Some of these photos are from the day we rented a hummer! We drove all around the island and everywhere was completely empty! So cool and so different than the other Hawaiian islands that are so crowded!
Here are a few quick notes from my experience:
- The island of Lanai is completely relaxed. Really quiet and so different from other Hawaiian islands.
- Transportation between lodges is really easy, and there is such different atmospheres at the two
- Must walk out to sweetheart rock! Easy hike from the resort. Incredible views!
- Hit the road! Rent a car for a day to explore secluded beaches on the island. You might even be the only ones there! FS will pack you a picnic lunch!
- Great golf course. And Views Restaurant lives up to its name! Gorgeous views!
- Really easy to take the ferry to Maui
- Awesome restaurants on the island
- Tiny town- not a lot there!
- Nobu restaurant at Manele Bay is amazing!!! Absolute must.
- There is a private dinner at orchid house at the lodge which has fire pits, drinks, smores. You can watch the sunset from the deck right by the banyan trees – such a beautiful experience!
And there you have it! What would you want to try while you’re in Lanai? Email me if you’d like to find out more about the resort and if you’d like help planning your honeymoon!
Just a few miles west of Maui, Lanai was once Hawaii’s largest pineapple plantation. Now, Lanai is a small, private island and is the perfect Hawaiian destination for a couple who truly wants a tranquil tropical honeymoon. Four Seasons Lanai at Manele Bay is perched atop a rugged red-lava cliff above a white sand beach. I was lucky enough to visit this luxurious resort recently, and will tell you all about it in my next post! For now, take a look at the Four Season’s beautiful photos.
Incredible, right?! Be sure to check out my next post where I’ll share my experience, tips and photos.
If you follow along on Instagram, you know that I just returned from a pretty amazing trip to Half Moon Bay for Thanksgiving. We wanted to get away for a few days, and didn’t want to travel too far. My boyfriend Dave had stayed at The Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay a few years ago for a work trip and loved it, so we decided that would be the perfect place to spend Thanksgiving. And it most certainly was. I mean, this was the view from our room!
The coastline felt like Ireland with the beautiful green grass and cliffs over the ocean! There was even a bagpiper at sunset every evening. Walking along the coast every morning was a definite highlight of the trip.
One day we drove to the local redwood forest to go hiking which was so, so beautiful. Then we drove down to Thomas Fogarty Winery for fabulous wine tasting. Bonus- guests of the Ritz Carlton receive complimentary wine tasting here!
We sure did eat good in Half Moon Bay. Some of our favorites were Sam’s Chowder House for beautiful views and awesome clam chowder, It’s Italia for delicious thin crust pizza, and Cetrella for a yummy dinner with live music. We also loved the firepits at the Ritz Carlton for wine and s’mores!
This would be a perfect place to stay for a honeymoon with other stops along the California coast. And even better- clients of Ever After Honeymoons receive breakfast daily and an $85 spa credit! Contact us to help with your visit!
On days like this we are reminded to be thankful for what we have. Being in the travel and leisure industry I am lucky enough to see and experience the most unique and beautiful places all over the globe. This is a daily reminder to be grateful for all of the world’s natural bounty.

I recently returned from the most amazing week in New York City! I had a few work meetings, and it was Bridal Week in New York City. So I convinced Summer from Grey Likes Weddings to come along and off we went! New York City is one of my very favorite places in the world, and it certainly didn’t disappoint this time around! After our Southern California heat wave, I loved the amazing fall weather in New York!
We walked, shopped, ate, and drank our way through the city! A few favorite spots were drinks at Middle Branch, Employees Only, and Death & Co. And favorite meals were at Pastis, Beauty & Essex, Buvette, Casellula, and brunch at The Morning Standard. The UrbanDaddy app steered us to all of the great spots!
It was really fun to attend a couple fashion shows during Bridal Week! I went to the Amsale and Reem Acra shows, and saw some unbelievably gorgeous gowns!
I also attended really fun parties for Lover.ly, Martha Stewart Weddings, and The Knot. I love working in an industry with such amazing people! To see all the action find me on Instagram @eahoneymoons!
Another highlight of the trip was staying at the Soho House. This is a private members club with a small number of guest rooms. The location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of the Meatpacking District. They have an a wonderful restaurant and a rooftop balcony with the most incredible views of the city! It felt like such a perfect little hideaway. And I loved walking around the Meatpacking District and the nearby West Village. So many cute little boutiques and cafes.
