At the end of January, I was honored to be part of the amazing Hitched Event at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs. The talented ladies behind Bash, Please and Urbanic put on this showcase for brides, grooms and even wedding vendors to come and take a look at new and fresh ideas to help with wedding planning.
Each of the vendors “snagged” had their own table to showcase their gorgeous work and portfolios in hopes to inspire brides and grooms.
Bash, Please and Urbanic made great use of the Commune at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs.
There was even a groom’s lounge styled by the fabulous team behind Rue Magazine.
Catherine of The Lifestyled planned out an incredible fashion show which included gowns from Monique Lhullier.
The Aqualilies amazed all the attendees with their sychronized swimming moves.
Just in case you weren’t convinced that this wasn’t a traditional bridal show, towards the end of the night there was a dance off! I gave away a free 6 night stay at any of the Zoetry Resorts to the winner! This could be used at any of their boutique, all inclusive resorts in Cabo, Riviera Maya or Dominican Republic.
Congratulations to Max and Molly for winning the dance off! They are the cutest, sweetest couple and are going to have an amazing honeymoon! Many thanks to 100 Layer Cake and Shark Pig for helping me judge the contest!
The night ended with everyone on the dance floor and of course, a confetti fest.
Again, many thanks to Paige and Kelly of Bash, Please and Audrey of Urbanic for asking me to be part of Hitched! It was so fun to see and meet the talents of so many in the industry. Truly an amazing showcase and a must for all brides and grooms to go to while wedding planning. Looking forward to the next Hitched!

Even though Tommy and Vicki are West Coasters, their wedding was on the East Coast during the winter. So they decided as a compromise, they’d go somewhere warm like the Caribbean for their honeymoon! St. Lucia ended up being their perfect place for their honeymoon as it offered relaxation but also the option to go out and do things!
Tommy and Vicki stayed at The Landings Resort which they loved. There they learned how to sail the Hobie Cat, hiked in Pigeon National Park right down the street, took a Catamaran to Soufriere, Marigot Bay and the Volcano, snorkeled, went to the Rum Distillery and still got plenty of R&R on the beach.
“When we arrived we were offered a complimentary Rum Punch which they had waiting in our room when the golf cart drove up with us. We also had a welcome fruit tray in the room. The fruit was delicious! Our room was upgraded to a room with a private Jacuzzi off the patio. Our spa treatments were 50% off and we got free breakfast every day.
Also on our flight from Boston to Atlanta we were upgraded to better seats with more legroom and our flight attendant brought us bloody mary’s (at 6 am) and a bottle of wine from first class that we could enjoy later in the day.”
“Our favorite part of the honeymoon was getting to the Landings and seeing just how great the resort was. We had good expectations but it was above and beyond.
Our favorite day was taking a Catamaran excursion down to Soufriere which included a tour of the volcano, a sugar and cocoa plantation, lunch, and snorkeling at Anse Cochon on the way back. “
Thank you, Tommy and Vicki for sharing your honeymoon with us! Congratulations again to both of you!

Married in October, 2010, Naomi and Jamie, from Montreal, were smart in wanting to avoid the cold for their honeymoon. So they up and left for much warmer waters in Hawai’i in December. With the spirit of adventure in them, they wanted to make sure they were surrounded by nature and have plenty of access for hiking. So for their honeymoon, they did an island hop and visited Maui, Big Island, and Oahu.
Some of their goals for their honeymoon were to have a good combination of sightseeing and relaxing so they were able to hike, see the North Shore villages, visit the rainforest, snorkel and more.
The three factors that were most important for them for their honeymoon were that it had to be fun, relaxing and breathtaking.
Naomi and Jamie were kind enough to share some of their favorite memories from their honeymoon.

James and Christina wanted to visit a destination that was different from the hustle and bustle of their usual big-city vacations and settled on Negril, Jamaica.
They loved staying at the Grand Pineapple Resortwhich is right on Seven Mile beach. Upon their arrival they were upgraded to a cottage overlooking the gardens.
To get a greater feel for the local people and culture, Christina and James recommend hiring a local driver and planning a day trip away from the resort.
“I don’t think we could have picked a more perfect location.” says Christina, “We fell in love with Jamaica, its food, its people, and the beaches. The Jamaican people are some of the most welcoming people we have ever met!”
