I just love the most recent issue of Utterly Engaged! The “Sparkles & Crystals” theme is the perfect way to ring in the New Year! For this issue, we focused on City Chic Destinations because a tropical beach honeymoon isn’t for everyone. Plenty of couples would rather spend their time as newlyweds exploring a fast-paced city together. In this article, we put together three of our favorite city destinations and we provided recommendations for couples visiting each destination. Ashley & Kenny are ultimate foodies, so for their honeymoon, they were on the hunt for AMAZING meals and the perfect balance of relaxation & adventure. The two newlyweds both agreed that many of their meals on their honeymoon were some of the most memorable meals of their lifetime. The amazing homemade & fresh fares in both Italy & Greece enhanced their experience so much more. The two started in Positano at the Palazzo Murat hotel and then went to the Relais Maresca in Capri and ended their time in Italy at Maison La Minervetta in Sorrento. They loved the beauty of each of the Amalfi Coast towns and how they were each uniquely their own.
After Italy, the two headed to Greece where they stayed at Aressana Spa & Hotel & the Altana Traditional Houses. At Altana Traditional Houses, the owner was so great to the couple and filled them in on all of the “hidden-gems” of Santorini, including restaurants, beaches, & best spots to watch the sunset without hoards of tourists.

New Years Eve is such a fun holiday! This year, I will be spending New Years in Bangkok and will be sure to share all of the exciting details upon my return. For now, here are some fabulous New Years Eve celebrations from around the world.

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Venture down under for one of the biggest and best firework shows in the world in Sydney Harbour. Get a front row seat by hiring a skipper and floating around on your own boat or reserve a table outside at one of the waterfront restaurants by the Bridge. If you can muster the courage the next day, strap on a harness and climb to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge where the fireworks extravaganza takes off.

GOA, INDIA: Join the hottest Bollywood stars & spend New Years Eve dining, drinking, & dancing under the stars on the white sand beaches. Keep in mind, the biggest parties tend to be around Anjuna, so if you want something a little more intimate, head south to Palolem.

RIO DE JANIERO: Head south where it’s the middle of summer and celebrate with over 2 million others who gather to watch the fireworks off of Copacabana Beach. Everything happens right there on Copacabana Beach, so dawn your flashiest whites (traditions say wearing white brings luck with the New Year) and head to the Beach. While every restaurant and hotel will have a special New Years Eve menu for diners, one of the most scrumptious is most certainly Copacabana Palace Hotel. The hotel also has a fabulous party that goes late into the night and has a great view of the firework extravaganza that lasts up to 15 minutes!

BERLIN: Celebrate “Silvester” (New Years Eve) in the capitol with one of the worlds largest firework shows in the world. The Germans are notorious for spending a pretty penny on their fireworks and it’s said that you can literally see them popping from anywhere in the whole city! The biggest party, however, is always at the grand Brandenburg Gate, where you’ll find, food, music, & fun as everyone celebrates. If you don’t want to join the huge crowds at Brandenburg Gate, venture over to Teufelsberg & Viktoriapark, two fabulous vantage points from which to watch the fireworks.

During my latest stay in Paris I rented an apartment which I loved! It was a great way to experience the city like a local for a few days! So I was really excited to discover Cobble Stay. They have an incredible selection of beautiful apartments in Paris in the best locations in the city. This is perfect for honeymoon couples that want privacy and space- hotel rooms in Paris are tiny! It is also great for couples that want to cook some meals, or just have a picnic of wine, cheeses and baguettes in front of the fire place!

Not only is the apartment itself amazing, the property is in a prime location. Marais is a really cute area filled with little boutiques and cafes.
