On their very last day in Italy, Amanda & Tim decided to do a spontaneous photo shoot to celebrate their recent engagement! So when Cinzia Bruschini offered to photograph them, they knew they couldn’t let the opportunity pass by. The two had such a blast wandering around Rome’s Trastevere neighborhood & their pictures are absolutely to die for!
Congratulations on your engagement and thank you so much for sharing your adventures in Italy with us!

One of the last stops on Amanda & Tim’s Italian Tour were a handful of towns on the beautiful Amalfi Coast. They visited Ravello, Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento, Capri, & Pompeii. They started in Ravello, where they stayed at the beautiful Palazzo Sasso. The hotel has incredible service and the cuisine is absolutely delicious! In Amanda’s words… “Honeymooners… this is your hotel!”
Here’s more of what Amanda had to say about Ravello: Ravello is a romantic town with a very cute square, some shopping and a handful of great restaurants (including Cumpa Cosimo, on Katie’s recommendation, where we went for 3 dinners) as well as some VERY breathtaking views at the gardens. Also, make sure to sip some limoncello…it is made there. And Villa Cimbrone is a MUST!
After hearing so much about the little town of Positano, they also wanted to visit that town. Amanda discovered a fabulous little sandal shop, Nana Positano, where they craft some beautiful sandals (for only 30 euros!). They two finished their Positano excursion up in the mountains at the incredible restaurant Il Ritrovo (which also does cooking classes!).
Amanda & Tim spent their last two days in Sorrento and took a day trip to the island of Capri. Amanda & Tim recommend spending most of your time in Anacapri, just up the hill from Capri.
The two both agreed that taking the chair lift to the top of Mount Solero was one of the most amazing things they did on their trip: ” The views of the water and rock formations of Faraglioni.. ahhh! And the blue color in the photo below was not enhanced.. it is really this blue!”
So cute, right?? Thank you Amanda & Tim for sharing all of your adventures with us!! Check back later this week for a real treat from Amanda & Tim… their engagement shoot in Rome!!

Continuing on with Amanda & Tim’s Italy trip, their next stop was a small town in Tuscany. After braving the crowds in Florence, the town of Lucca was a pleasant change. It’s also home to their favorite pizza spot of the trip, Pizzeria da Felice, a delicious family-run place where all the locals go. They also loved Ristorante Giglio (where they apparently have the BEST house red) & Trattoria da Giulio (where the Tagliatelle Arrabiata was to die for!).
In Lucca, they took a bike ride to the top of the medieval wall that surrounds the city, where they spent the day lounging in the beautiful park at the top of the wall.
Following Lucca, Amanda & Tim headed to San Gimignano where they found some “mind-blowing” gelato at Gelateria di Piazza & then made their way to Siena for a delicious dinner & some nighttime exploring.
Next they made their way to the tiny town of Saturnia. They stayed at Terme di Saturnia, a beautiful spa resort. Just down the street from their hotel, Tim & Amanda found an area where water gushes into a large natural pool, flowing over a waterfall & down to a series of natural pools carved in the rock. They described it as “strange & fascinating all at the same time.” But do keep in mind that the springs have a pretty strong sulphur smell that takes some getting used to….
Amanda & Tim clearly had such a blast in Tuscany, but we are really in for a treat with their next destination, the Amalfi Coast! Check back this week for all the dreamy details!

After the sweetest proposal in Lake Como, Amanda & Tim headed to Florence. Neither Amanda, nor Tim had been to Florence before, so they were very excited to see what all the buzz was about. They stayed at the exquisite Riva Lofts. This hotel was one of the biggest highlights of their trip!
In Amanda’s words, Riva Lofts were: Rustic, Italian countryside chic on the outside with a sleek, modern interior accented by antique decor touches. If we could live here, we would..it was the most unique and coolest hotel we stayed in the entire trip (and probably in our lives). Plus the staff was incredibly helpful, recommending restaurants and routes to take through town. They make their own delicious olive oil which you can purchase at the hotel. Plus they have a collections of cute bikes that you can borrow, which we did one evening and rode through the streets of Florence at night.
They spent their first days hitting all the popular spots like the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, the Ponte Vecchio. They spent their remaining days exploring the Mercato Centrale where they picked up some stuff to bring back home with them.
Both Amanda & Tim highly recommend that any couples traveling to Florence must spend some time in the Officina Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, “Dominican monks began concocting herbal remedies here in the 13th century and today, they still sell traditional elixirs along with more contemporary skin-care products, oils, & perfumes. Once inside, you’re in another world. You feel the history & smell the strong, sweet fragrance of flowers & essential oils wafting through the rooms. And needless to say, it’s a pretty romantic place to go with a lover”
Another memory Amanda & Tim have from Florence was the wonderful cooking class they did. They loved learning the proper techniques for making the perfect noodle dough, spinach ravoli, Tuscan crostini, risotto, pistachio chicken, zucchini flan & ricotta torta!
Stay tuned next week as we follow Amanda & Tim on their adventures through Tuscany & their beautiful engagement shoot in Rome!

After some delicious adventures in Venice, Amanda & Tim made their way to Lake Como, where they stayed at the beautiful Grand Hotel Tremezzo. They spent their time in Lake Como feeling like royalty & exploring the surrounding islands with ferries to Villa Balbianello, Villa d’Este, and Bellagio, and enjoyed fresh fish at Trattoria San Giacomo.
On their last day there, Tim surprised Amanda with a breathtaking boat trip at sunset and he proposed!! Is that not the cutest thing ever?!? Of course, she said YES!!
Check back on Friday for all the details on the their time in Florence!
