Tierra Atacama

Hotel Feature |

The absolute best part of my job are the amazing travel opportunities that I get.  I was recently asked to go on a trip to Chile, and I could not have said yes any faster!  This was my first trip to South America, but certainly not my last!

Our first stop was Tierra Atacama, in the Atacama Desert in Northern Chile.  This is a luxury adventure lodge, which includes all meals, drinks, and daily activities.  Let me be clear- I am definitely not an adventure traveler.  But it was so fun to have such a new and different travel experience, and to stay in such a beautiful destination!

I did SO much in the few days I was in Atacama!  When you arrive at Tierra Atacama, a guide goes over all of the options of excursions available and makes recommendations based on your fitness level and what you are interested in.

The first day we went to the Salt Mountains and to Moon Valley.  So beautiful!  And yes, that is salt not snow!

That afternoon we did a long bike ride to Cejar Lagoon, where you float in the salt lagoon.  It was such a crazy feeling floating in the lagoon, and not even being able to put your arms or legs down into the water!

The next morning we got up early to see the Tatio Geysers, and then had breakfast just after sunrise.  Such a beautiful experience!

That afternoon I relaxed at their amazing pool- just look at that view!

I really enjoyed the hotel.  It has really modern design and every suite has an outdoor shower with great views.  The food was amazing as well, with menus that changed daily.  It was really fun to be active during the day, and then have wine and a wonderful dinner each evening.  It was a true luxury, adventure experience.

I would highly recommend a stay at Tierra Atacama for couples that are really active and looking to do something different.  This destination can be paired with many other places in South America as well.

Next up- my adventure continues at Tierra Patagonia!

Bali Bound and Fashion Forward

Currently |

I’m Bali bound and have been searching for style inspiration! I’ve been eyeing light airy dresses, tank tops, shorts and bathing suits for my journey. I’ve gathered some of my favorite pieces that would make any Bali bound babe look fabulous!

I would love to wear this gorgeous outfit while dining outdoors or for sunset cocktails. The bright and bold colors match the energy of the island!

Both of these bikini’s give off the island chic feel of a tropical getaway. Love the fringe and scalloped edges!

A bold maxi dress, flat sandals and fabulous jewelry give off a Bali bohemian vibe. I may wear it while I explore the island, or even while I ride an elephant! It’s totally comfortable and versatile!

Amanjena Resort

Hotel Feature |

It may not be the first location that pops into your head when brainstorming honeymoon ideas… but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t consider Morocco! I’ve had my eye on the Amanjena Resort for a while now, and definitely need to carve out some time to make my way over there. Too many amazing destinations, not enough time!

What I love about the Amanjena is it’s located just outside Marrakech, offering a serene setting that’s just a few miles from a bustling city. You can choose to head into town for a little adventure, or you can choose to lounge by the heated (yes, heated) outdoor pool.

Also nearby are the High Atlas mountains where you can scope out ancient mosques, kasbahs ( historic cities) and cliffside villages where you can explore the its rich cultural heritage!

And lastly… the spa. After planning a wedding, I think every couple deserves an hour of complete relaxation. With Turkish style hammams (steam baths) and a selection of spa treatments, you’ll no doubt find something you both can enjoy.

Love this turquoise tie-dye maxi skirt! Pair it with a loose tank, statement necklace and print clutch and you’ll be perfectly styled in Morocco! Found via Pinterest

If I haven’t convinced you yet that Morocco should be on your list of possible destinations, let me leave you with this… a warm summer evening, dining outdoors on authentic couscous and home-grown fruits and traditional folk music playing lightly in the background. Plus my clients get room grades (based on availability at arrival), daily breakfast and a complimentary lunch or dinner during your stay. Ready to go? Let’s get started!

Rosewood Mayakoba

Hotel Feature |

I have been traveling a lot lately, even by my standards!  I am so excited to share my most recent adventure!  I recently stayed at the incredible Rosewood Mayakoba Resort.  I had heard wonderful things about this resort and my clients had raved about it so my expectations were high- and everything about the resort exceeded these expectations!  The food, drinks, and service were all so incredible that it was pretty tough returning to reality!

There is so much that I loved about this resort.  It is set within lagoons, and almost every suite has a private dock.  So you arrive to your suite by boat which I loved!  Then every suite has a private pool which is pretty amazing.  Nice to take an after dinner swim with your sweetie!  The resort has 128 suites that are really spread out, so every suite feels incredibly private.

There are a number of special things the resort can do for honeymoon couples.  For example there is a small island within the lagoons with just a wood platform.  You can be picked up from your suite by boat, taken to this island for a couples massage, then returned back to your suite by boat.  Pretty cool right?!  They can also set up a private dinner either within the lagoons or on the beach, and then have a bubble bath with a bottle of champagne ready back in your suite.  WOW.

The beach was absolutely gorgeous.  The water was pretty calm and warm so I loved swimming every day.  The service down on the beach is really amazing as well- the staff would come by to offer to clean sunglasses, offering fruit popsicles, lime sorbet, small desserts, and even offering head massages!  I felt so incredibly pampered, and more relaxed than I had been in a very long time.

Clients of Ever After Honeymoons that stay at Rosewood Mayakoba receive complimentary breakfast daily, a room upgrade if available at arrival, and a $100 spa credit!  So contact us if this sounds your perfect honeymoon spot!

Half Moon Bay

Hotel Feature |

If you follow along on Instagram, you know that I just returned from a pretty amazing trip to Half Moon Bay for Thanksgiving.  We wanted to get away for a few days, and didn’t want to travel too far.  My boyfriend Dave had stayed at The Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay a few years ago for a work trip and loved it, so we decided that would be the perfect place to spend Thanksgiving.  And it most certainly was.  I mean, this was the view from our room!

The coastline felt like Ireland with the beautiful green grass and cliffs over the ocean!  There was even a bagpiper at sunset every evening.  Walking along the coast every morning was a definite highlight of the trip.

One day we drove to the local redwood forest to go hiking which was so, so beautiful. Then we drove down to Thomas Fogarty Winery for fabulous wine tasting. Bonus- guests of the Ritz Carlton receive complimentary wine tasting here!

We sure did eat good in Half Moon Bay.  Some of our favorites were Sam’s Chowder House for beautiful views and awesome clam chowder, It’s Italia for delicious thin crust pizza, and Cetrella for a yummy dinner with live music.  We also loved the firepits at the Ritz Carlton for wine and s’mores!

This would be a perfect place to stay for a honeymoon with other stops along the California coast.  And even better- clients of Ever After Honeymoons receive breakfast daily and an $85 spa credit!  Contact us to help with your visit!
