Today, we’re sharing Justin and Chelsea’s amazing 2.5 week honeymoon in Greece, Croatia and Paris!
“Justin and I were very excited for our wedding but very VERY excited for our honeymoon. There aren’t many times in your life when you can get away with taking a two and a half week vacation with the man you love and boy it could not come at a better time having spent the last 8 months planning and coordinating a wedding! If we could give one piece of honeymoon advice it would be to take it two days after your wedding and not wait. We liked having a day after the wedding to come home and gather our bearings and make sure we had everything packed and weren’t leaving anything and then take off! You’re on such a high from the wedding that even traveling to Greece from CA (15 hours) flew by because we were so busy going over and over the wedding weekends details and revelling in all the love we just felt.”
“Going to Athens for two days was amazing because we used the first day to sleep a little after the long travel day and experience the night life on a rooftop bar in the main suqare. The second day we were able to explore Athens and see all the really cool historic monuments.”
“Santorini was hands down the most spectacular and beautiful place I’ve EVER been. We stayed in Oia which is a side of the island that has the best sunsets and the most gorgeous hotels. We loved Santorini as the first place of our honeymoon because we could relax, unwind, enjoy the sun, and get into pure vacation mode. Going through EA Honeymoons was amazing too because every place we went had “special honeymoon gifts” from a couple’s massage to a day on a Sail Boat.”
“After 6 days of waking up, eating a massive delicious breakfast, laying out, going to drinks and dinner and repeating day after day, we went to Dubrovnik, Croatia. We did venture into town one day and wandered around the old city which felt like a hybrid of Costa Rica and Italy with the laid back beachy feel being right on the water and the cobble stone streets and old city. 3 days was perfect to see everything.”

“What also made the honeymoon so incredible was having Katie who had planned it perfectly! She found hotels that matched the criteria we were looking for and we didn’t have to worry about figuring out all the details and coordinating while we were doing that for the wedding. The other amazing benefit was that everywhere we stayed knew and loved her so they treated us like royalty! Each place had champgane, or chocolates, or sweet notes welcoming us which always was a great way to start a trip. It was also so nice that if there was an issue that came up like Air France pilots going on strike two days before coming home (yes this happened) Katie was always available and quick to respond and kept us at ease and helped us get through anything.”

I just shared a hotel Spotlight on Four Seasons Lanai at Manele Bay, and now I want to share my personal experience! I definitely recommend this resort to any couple who is looking for a laid back, tropical vibe on their honeymoon. The island of Lanai is fairly big, but only has the Four Seasons on the beach, a Four Seasons Lodge on the hillside (which has a more mountain lodge feeling), and a very small town. The rest of the island is empty! It’s so beautiful! The arrival experience was great. You fly into Hololulu, where someone meets you at the gate, drives you to the other airport and it has a nice lounge with drinks and snacks. You check in to the hotel in the lounge so you can go right to your room when you arrive in Lanai. Then just a quick flight from Honolulu to Lanai, drive to the hotel, and you are in paradise!
There is a frequent shuttle between the two Four Seasons resorts so you can easily visit both, and each resort has such a unique vibe! We stayed on the beach and had dinner at the lodge one night which was really nice. Then one day we rented a hummer and drove around the island. Everywhere was so beautiful and completely empty!
Then also be sure to hike out to Sweetheart Rock. It is a very easy hike from the Four Seasons at Manele Bay and the views are incredible!
The resort is currently undergoing a lot of updates, so it will be even more amazing once those are complete. Lanai is such a gorgeous island and perfect if you want something a little off the beaten path and more unique.
