Shortly after returning from Thailand, I headed off to Petit St Vincent Resort. This is a private island resort located within the chain of islands called St Vincent and the Grenadines in the Southern Caribbean. I absolutely loved this resort, and I can’t recommend it enough for honeymoon couples!
This is a private island resort with 22 individual cottages, gorgeous white sand beaches, and unbelievable service. The atmosphere is so relaxed on the island, and the staff is incredibly friendly and anxious to help with anything you need.
You can do as much or as little as you want during your stay on the island. There are private beaches throughout the island, so you can be dropped off for a day of complete privacy with a picnic lunch. If you are looking to be a little more active there are hiking trails throughout the island (the views from the top are incredible!), as well as snorkeling, kayaks, and tennis. The resort can also arrange sailing trips to visit the Tobago Cays for unbelievable snorkeling, and to other nearby islands including Carriacou, Canouan, and Mustique.
An absolute must is a visit to the resort’s new spa. It is built up on a hill and the spa rooms can be completely open so you can feel the breeze and hear the waves while you are getting your spa treatments. Heaven.
Another fabulous recent addition to the island is the beach restaurant and beach bar. Lobster doesn’t get any fresher than this!

Prior to going to Thailand, I was most looking forward to getting to ride elephants, and this was definitely a highlight of the trip! We went to Maetaman Elephant Camp where we rode elephants and then went on a bamboo raft down the river.
There are many places in Chiang Mai where you can ride elephants, but we chose to go here because they have a really long trail and you also go through the river.
On the way back we stopped to see the 3 week old baby elephant with it’s mom! SO CUTE!!!
After that we took a ride down the river on a bamboo raft. It was so beautiful and peaceful on the water!
I highly recommend a day at Maetaman Elephant Camp for anyone visiting Chiang Mai!

Another highlight of my time in Chiang Mai was the elephants! We went to Maesa Elephant Camp where we fed elephants bananas and sugar cane and took pictures with them. Here I am getting lots of love from a few very friendly elephants!
Then it was bath time. They were so cute all splashing around in the river!
After that was the show where they danced, played soccer, and threw darts.
The best part was watching them paint! It was so amazing to watch- they were so precise with every stroke!
Here are the finished products! You could buy the paintings after they were done. I would definitely recommend a visit to Maesa Elephant Camp to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. Next up is our day riding elephants!

Mark & Mindy are foodies who were determined to honeymoon in a place where they could get sand, sun, culture, & wildlife- a honeymoon escape in Bali was just the ticket. The two stayed at Uma Sapna Villas and the Kayana Villas in Seminyak and ended their trip in Ubud at Komaneka at Bisma. In Seminyak, Mark & Mindy loved the beaches and array of resturants, while in Ubud they indulged in the serenity of the mountains, the art, and the vast opportunities for adventure that lay at their fingertips. The two went river-rafting, elephant trekking, walking in the monkey forest, and even took a cooking class all in Ubud!
Their favorite memory of their trip was picking out art for their new home at a local gallery. A wonderfully knowledgeable guide from the hotel took them to a boutique gallery, away from the tourist hot spots, where they walked around for hours looking at all of the different pieces. What a wonderful souvenir to bring back and have as a daily reminder of such a fabulous vacation!

After spending a few nights in Bangkok, we headed over to Chiang Mai and stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi. I had heard amazing things about this resort, and it certainly didn’t disappoint! I absolutely loved this resort and can’t recommend it enough for anyone visiting Chiang Mai!
The resort itself is absolutely gorgeous. It is a fairly new property, but was built to look like a traditional Lanna Kingdom from the 14th century.
The hotel has some suites and a number of villas. We had a beautiful villa overlooking the rice fields. We also had a private plunge pool and a lot of outside patios, which was so nice!
Look at the beautiful pool!
Another highlight of the resort is the spa. It has consistently been ranked as a top spa in the world, so I was really looking forward to checking it out. They have a huge variety of unique treatments and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. A visit to the spa is an absolute must for any guests of the resort!
This is truly such a special and unique property, and the perfect place to unwind after the stress of a wedding.
