Nihiwatu is located in Indonesia on Sumba Island, a short flight from Bali. This place is unbelievable! The island is really untouched, so you get an authentic, non touristy experience. There are a lot of traditional villages, animals, and tons of open space. If you love surfing, you’re in luck! Nihiwatu is a big surfing destination. All villas come with private pools, and all meals are included. I have had 2 couples here recently that LOVED it! It’s such a great spot for couples wanting a real “off the beaten path” experience, while still having all of the luxuries at their fingertips. “From exhilarating experiences including access to privately surf one of the world’s best left-hand break waves, to world-class sport fishing and diving to the purest shores of our 2.5 kilometre private beach, sunset gazing or star-lit dining; each stay is expertly crafted through a personalized approach shaped by pleasure not design.”

The Uxua Casa Hotel & Spa is a luxurious hotel on the coast of Brazil. The hotel is set just outside the incredibly chic town of Trancoso. “The casas were created by designer Wilbert Das in collaboration with local artisans using traditional building methods, reclaimed materials, and Brazilian antiques and art. The design blends rustic elements with contemporary comfort and roominess, and fuses in an innovative way indoor and outdoor living spaces to take advantage of a year-round, tropical climate.” Two restaurants specialize in traditional Bahian cuisine, and Uxua offers a beautiful spa, gym, a unique swimming pool of healing aventurine crystals, and a beach lounge created from old fishing boats.

Laucala Island is for couples looking for a lavish hideaway on their honeymoon. “No expense has been spared at the exclusive tropical hideaway, where 25 Fijian-styled villas are set amid coconut plantations, beside deserted beaches and atop the island’s volcanic mountains, overlooking fertile coral reefs and endless jungle.” It is a secluded private island resort, but there is still plenty to do! If you feel like being a little adventurous, Laucala offers a wide variety of activities: diving, rain forest tours, horseback riding, surfing, and golfing to name a few! They even have a new submarine! Using only the freshest local produce, you’re sure to love your dining experience whether it’s in the privacy of your villa or at one of the resorts five restaurants and bars. And their spa can’t be missed!

Four Seasons Bora Bora is a gorgeous resort in French Polynesia and it sure does not disappoint! I was lucky enough to visit this incredible resort with photographer Jose Villa, videographer Joel Serrato, Cortnie Fausner from The Venue Report, and Summer Ball from Grey Likes Weddings. We spent our days relaxing, eating amazing food at restaurants with incredible views, getting treated at the spa, riding jet skis around the island, and swimming with sharks (!!!). As you can tell, Four Seasons Bora Bora is the perfect destination for couples who want a tropical paradise getaway. The breathtaking mountains and the clear blue water provide the perfect surrounding for a romantic and surreal vacation. The overwater bungalows are absolutely gorgeous- you can jump right into the water from your balcony!
Enjoy these photos by the incredibly talented Jose Villa!
The absolute highlight of the trip was the full day shark and ray tour with lunch! We went out on a small boat with the most fun guide named Stephen. He was such a character and we laughed nonstop all day! We snorkelled, swam with rays, and even swam with sharks, it was such a surreal experience! Below is a photo Jose Villa took… those are my legs with a shark swimming below!
Four Seasons Bora Bora has a lot of water activities available, from snorkelling to canoes to stand up paddle boards. There is so much to do while you’re there! I would highly recommend riding jet skis around the main island of Bora Bora, we had so much fun! It was so gorgeous to see the mountains on the main island from all the way around. It sprinkled for a little bit and then there was a huge rainbow over the mountains, it was like a dream. And it was incredible to see all of the shades of blue in the water! Even these beautiful photos cannot do it justice – it is so clear. We stopped a couple times along the way and jumped off of our jet skis and swam for a bit. Definitely a memorable experience!
Stay tuned for Thursday’s post on the romantic private dining options that Four Seasons Bora Bora offers – so perfect for your honeymoon!
